First off, this chain lock is undeniably heavy-duty, and you will feel its weight when you hold it in your hands. The 150cm/5ft length provides ample flexibility when securing my bikes, which is a definite plus.
However, my excitement was slightly dampened when I noticed a welding issue on one of the exposed ends. The welding was subpar and raised concerns about the overall quality of the chain. This made me question the integrity of the rest of the links, which are concealed by the fabric covering.
Speaking of the fabric cover, I’m not entirely convinced of its durability either. The four screws that hold the fabric in place don’t appear to be as robust as I’d like them to be. They feel somewhat flimsy, and I can’t shake the feeling that they will come loose or even fall off over time, leaving the chain exposed.
Considering these quality control issues, I’m now contemplating whether to return this product. It’s frustrating because with some improvements in the manufacturing and quality assurance processes, this chain will be truly amazing. The heavy-duty design and ample length make it promising, but the welding and screw concerns leave me hesitant about its long-term reliability.
