GrovTec GTHL14902R Trail Pack Holster (Size 02, Right Hand)

I have a few “Mountain guns” that I wanted to holster when hiking or hunting. Although leather would be comfortable, getting it wet would be a disadvantage. Since leather retains moisture, rust would be the biggest concern. I wanted something that could be less Maintenance.This holster has a padded set of straps that mount onto the shoulders. The elastic bands can be adjusted for the user, inside or outside of a jacket. A back strap tethers the holster to the user’s belt for balance. The revolver is secured in a pocket with a Velcro strap. It’s very stable, and I feel safe enough that it won’t have an accidental discharge since I keep the strap over the hammer.One negative, for now, is that it is a two handed draw: One hand to release the gun from the holster, and the other to draw the revolver. There are slots to carry several rounds of backup ammunition.Because of the design, it doesn’t interfere with the use of a backpack. The holster distributes the weight evenly. The back is lightly padded which helps with moisture. The straps are easy to adjust.It accommodates for my Ruger Alaskan 2.5″ 454 Casull or my Ruger Talo Toklat 5″ 454 Casull.The only other design I can see that would be superior would be a combination with Kydex since that would give good gun retention and a quicker draw.
