MAXPEDITION Pistol Case/Gun Rug

This is the FIFTH of these cases that I have bought. The first was the smaller 10″ model which works well with my Glock 27 and is “okay” for my Glock 22 but tight. I purchased the larger 12″ cases for my Beretta Neos U22 with a red dot sight which fits perfectly, a Glock 19, and the Glock 22 are a better fit in this case. With the larger case you can also carry one additional mag so for the small price difference, I recommend going with the larger case. So, I am retiring the smaller case and replacing it with the larger case for my Glock 27 to have the room for an additional mag.The quality is good and I like the features. The zippers are solid YKK style and the external one is setup for a lock. I used a Master Lock TSA style luggage lock which fits well. It is not going to deter a determined thief but then they would just take the whole case anyway. It will keep prying folks and kids away from your gun for safety unless they break out the bolt cutters, or a knife to cut the case. But then, this is not a gun safe.The mag holders work well and I liked having the two elastic loops in the spine which I use to hold small bottles of cleaner and oil. One of the mag holders is used to secure a Winchester cleaning kit in a metal tube which I really like. The internal Velcro straps are useful to secure small items such as a cleaning brush but don’t expect to carry anything of any size there. I did go to Wal-Mart and got some longer pieces of Velcro. The pieces that come with the case are cut to the width of the Velcro patch which does not take into account the length needed to go over any items you store here. Not a big cost.There are also two elastic straps in the inside of the spline which I use to carry a small bottle of cleaning fluid and another small bottle of gun oil.The case has adequate room inside for two cleaning clothes and a Viper cleaning snake which I store in zip-lock bags (again, another zipper pouch behind the mag straps would be handy for storing these).My only suggestions for an improvement would be to add a second “pouch” on the side opposite the zippered gun pouch to hold targets, stapler and ear plugs and I would have everything that I need at the range. Slightly longer Velcro straps would make this feature more useful and a clear pouch on the outside to carry an business card or other form of ID would also be nice.Bottom line is that this is a good product for the money that will get a lot of use.
