Recoil Pad for Rifles and Shotguns, High-Performance Universal Buttstock Gel Pad.

This seems like a pretty well made recoil pad. It’s got a surprising amount of padding which offers a fair amount of cushioning. It can be a little stubborn to get over the stock sometimes, but other than that I have no complaints.I put this on the buttplate of a Marlin 336 .30-.30 rifle, which typically has a little kick, but nothing terrible. If you press this tightly against your shoulder I’d estimate it probably decreases the felt-recoil by about 15 to 20%. I feel that’s pretty good performance for the price of this.I’d recommend it and probably would purchase this again, but I always advise to do your research and compare this against other products that are available. This should hold up pretty well and over a number of years it should be a pretty good investment.

Clearly you’re okay with the branding on the back of this recoil pad since it is displayed in the product images. I don’t like it, but I’m not vain enough to care.The pad has a nice rubbery interior to help keep it in place and prevent it from sliding off. There’s enough stretch to hold it on tightly if you’ve measured the size of your stock correctly. Anything that isn’t a stretch fit is likely to fall off.Where I was completely amazed is the quality of the gel padding. It has a thick and comfortable feel which makes shooting far more enjoyable. Often there isn’t enough padding in the slip-on recoil pads, and this one is certainly an exception. It is far better made and with more support than I would have expected from an unknown brand and at this price point.I prefer having a no-slip and to the stock or recoil pad to keep it locked into my shoulder. There’s a little bit of tack due to the printing, but I wouldn’t call it grippy. It doesn’t slide, but it doesn’t really hold in place. This may be more preference than anything else.I don’t like the print to get all on it, but this has nothing to do with its function. You know what you get when you’re getting it. This would be a nice addition if you need a little extra extension on a nagant or SKS.I’m a big fan of CVlife products for budget shooting, but this one vastly exceeds their recoil pad which is the only product from them I’ve ever not been completely satisfied with. At this price it’s worth having one of these on hand.
