has 4 good cushions to absorb recoil –can adjust length of pull by adding or removing them. Re One reviewer’s comment re cord breaking, it is easy to replace leather thong on bottom with leather boot string or nylon laces if that is a concern — I didn’t see the need.

This is a very nice quality leather slip-on recoil pad. The size isn’t truly universal though, unless you think putting it on a smaller stock is okay… but then it will slip all over the place and it will not be tight. I put it on a basic Winchester Model 94 carbine and it was far too big. I was able to use some closed-cell foam and cut it to fit, wrapping the stock with it and then lacing this recoil pad as tightly as possible, over the foam. It will do, but it’s not ideal. Measure your stock, or buy this and take a chance it will not fit tightly enough. It’s very nicely made!
