US M3 OD Canvas 1911 .45 Tanker Shoulder Holster Marked JT&L for Colt 1911 and Similar Sized Semi Autos

My grandfather served aboard the USS Bunker Hill (CV-17) in WW2 and mentioned once that he remembered some of the pilots wearing leather chest holsters for their 1911 pistols, likely because a side holster make getting in and out of their Wildcats awkward. He also noted that some wore some green canvas holsters of the same design made for them by somebody on the ship when they couldn’t get leather. They probably held up better in the Pacific weather than leather, too. I don’t have any pictures supporting this as most pilots wore a life jacket covering their chest holster, but I’m thinking that this is probably a realistic reproduction of what they made on the ship.It fits my 1911 perfectly and is quite comfortable. It also has a generous adjustment and I wear a 2X shirt and I still have plenty of room for adjustment. It does have a fake manufacturer stamp on the back, but I’d prefer that it didn’t. The snap is good quality. I recommend pushing in the the post while pulling up to avoid taking a chance on breaking anything. It’ll be great for carrying a large pistol or revolver while camping or hunting.
