VISM by NcStar Gun Case (38″L X 9″H)/Black (CV2906-38)

I bought the 38″ length NcStar Gun case for a 36″ Citadel M-1 Carbine CIR9M1W-9mm rifle. There is a lot of comments regarding the actual sizes of the gun cases inside and outside. My (measured) 38″ NcStar gun case is 38″ end to end on the outside. This case is 37-1/4″ on the inside. This inside measurement (37.25″) is for a perfect fit. I wouldn’t put anything longer than a 36.5″ gun in this case. I always use a gun sock on all my guns to protect them better while being stored and transported to the range. I also bought the same gun case 6 months ago and that case was a 42″ NcStar Gun case. The same model as the 38″ NcStar gun case. My 42″ NcStar Gun case is (measured) on the outside 42″. The inside perfect measurement is 40-1/4″. Again, longest gun would be no longer than 39.5″ for the 42″ case. That’s quite a big inside to outside difference. I would say, the bigger the case, the more reinforced stitching there is thus making the inside measurement smaller. I have one home protection shot gun that is 39″ long but has a pistol grip. Because a shot gun is fat and thicker than most rifles, you need to figure that into the gun case size.Would I buy this case again? YES, seeing how I have both the 38″ and 42″ NcStar gun cases. The sizing does vary based on the length but the product quality for the price just can’t be beat. Heavy duty zippers on the case and the nice side pouches. It even has a luggage window for your name etc. The carry strap is a little uncomfortable and the latching hardware can pinch your hands. I removed mine for now and will replace the latch hardware with simple large metal rings like you use for you house and car keys. The padding was good but this does not discount the way you treat your guns.Take care of your guns and they will take care of you.
